Daniel Swarovski founded his glass cutting company in 1895 in Wattens, Austria. Initially, the company sold high-quality cut crystal stones to costume jewelery companies worldwide. All the special stones in the designer costume jewelery collected today come from Swarovski's glass cutting workshop. It was not until 1976 that Swarovski made its own jewelry. The most beautiful collector's items therefore come from the 80s and 90s. Particularly beautiful vintage jewelery was manufactured under the S.A.L (Swarovski America Ltd.) & SWAROVSKI label. From 1989 the jewelery is signed with the swan logo.
