Marcel Boucher was a true master of costume jewelry, originally worked in the field of fine jewelry for Cartier for a time. After engaging in the design of fine jewelry and fashion accessories, Boucher founded his own costume jewelry line in 1937. His "exotic bird" designs from this early period revolutionized the industry. His jewelry was sold in the most exclusive shops. Together with Sandra Semensohn, who later became his wife, the Boucher company continued to produce costume jewelry until 1970 and wristwatches until 1975.
