KRAMER - 1940 to 1980

Louis Kramer was one of the most important American costume jewelry designers of the 20th century. His New York-based company produced jewelry from 1943 to 1980. Kramer made a wide range of costume jewelry, ranging from simple earrings to elaborate necklaces and brooches. The company was particularly successful with its “Diamond Look” collection in the 1950s. These designs were so exemplary that he was recruited by Christian Dior to design his jewelry. The signing was with Kramer, Kramer of New York and Christian Dior by Kramer.
