Ralph Polcini, who immigrated to the USA from Italy, founded his company: "Leading Jewelry Manufacturing Company" in New York in 1911. From 1948 he signed his costume jewelry collections with the brand: "Ledo". When Ralph died in 1954, his son Damon took over the business and renamed the company and the jewelry "Polcini".
