Carolee is a jewelry brand founded in Westchester County, New York in 1972 by Carolee Friedlander and her friend and business partner Lenore Goldberg. The company began as a small retail store selling handmade jewelry. In the 1980s, Carolee became known for her particularly beautiful designs of pearl jewelry. This jewelry opened the doors to exclusive department stores. Carolee developed into a globally successful fashion and designer jewelry brand. In the 1990s, the company expanded internationally and opened branches in Europe and Asia. In 2018, the brand was acquired by Brooks Brothers, an American clothing company.
