Murray Simon was a costume jewelry maker in New York. His business wasn't doing particularly well because he just followed every trend, randomly. Murray wanted a unique selling point and invented the decorative shoe clip. From then on he produced nothing else and triggered a trend in the 1960s. Musi shoe clips are very diverse, with great attention to detail and of excellent quality. When the shoe clip trend threatened to die out in the 70s, Murray moved very successfully into the shoe industry.
