Marvella was launched by the Weinreich Bros. Company in Philadelphia in 1911. The Weinreichs produced jewelry for other companies. Under the name MARVELLA, they manufactured their own high-quality costume jewelry from artificial pearls. Specializing in pearls turned out to be extremely lucrative. The popularity of pearl jewelry simply did not take off and MARVELLA pearls became a world-famous trademark. In 1982, MARVELLA was purchased by Crystal Brands Jewelry Group and was for a time the pearl sister of TRIFARI and MONET. The brand is part of the Liz Claiborne Group since 2000.
